Keep your companies separate, switch between them in one click
Do you run several companies, or a few brands under one tax number? Each company stays in its own account with its own records; once it is confirmed that they belong to the same person, your companies are linked in one group. You sign in once and switch to your other company from the account list in the top-right user menu — no password asked. Every switch renews the session ID and starts a fresh session.
Five units, one trust model: from one login to every company in your group
Company Groups is more than a shortcut — one engine decides who may switch to which company, when a link is suspended and how the session is built on each switch. Each of the five units closes one job.
Company Group
Your companies are linked into one group once it is confirmed that they belong to the same person; brands under the same tax number and separate companies sit in the same group.
See the GroupAccount List
In the top-right user menu, above Profile: your current company is marked, the others are one click away.
See the ListOwner Gate
Only the company's owner can switch; your staff stay in their own company and never see the list.
See the GateFresh Session
Every switch is a password-free sign-in that rebuilds the session from scratch; other tabs left open in the panel are warned.
See the SessionPassword Trace & Suspension
The link is tied to the owner's password; if the password changes some other way, or the owner changes, the link suspends itself.
See the SafeguardsYour brands and your companies, in one group
Brands opened under the same tax number and companies with other tax numbers can share one group. A group holds up to 30 companies, and a company belongs to only one group at a time. Links need proof: a matching tax number alone is never a reason to link — companies are added one by one.
Your Brands
Brands that share your current company's tax number sit together in the list under their own heading, which names the number of brands.
See the ListYour Companies
Companies with other tax numbers appear in the same list under a separate heading; each keeps its customer and supplier accounts, invoices and cash records to itself.
See the GateLinked Only on Proof
A shared tax number is only a hint, never proof. No link is made until it is confirmed that both companies belong to the same person; iStartPay also sees and manages every group and its members.
See the SafeguardsPick your company, switch without a password
When the owner opens the top-right user menu, the account list appears: the current company is marked, and a company that cannot be entered is greyed out with the reason below it. Clicking a company opens no separate confirmation window; the engine checks the link, rebuilds the session and lands you on that company's start screen.
Account List
Sits in the owner's user menu, above Profile. Companies are sectioned by tax number; your current company is marked, a suspended one is greyed out with its reason.
- Above Profile
- Sectioned by tax number
- Reason shown
One-Click Switch
You switch to the chosen company without entering a password. The request is protected by a form token; a request sent from another site cannot turn your session to another company. If something fails, the reason appears in a red box in the menu.
- Password-free sign-in
- Token-protected request
- Errors shown in the menu
The Right Start Screen
You land on the start screen of the company you switched to: a single-product company opens that product, a company that uses only the quote module opens that module; an account with a temporary password sets a new one first. The product screen has no account list and no tab notice; both work only on the admin panel's screens.
- Company dashboard
- Product screen
- Set a password
The owner switches: your staff stay in their own company
The link is made to each company's owner — the person who opened the account. Admins who are not the owner and other staff never see the account list and keep working in their own company. If the company's owner changes, the link suspends itself; iStartPay confirms with you and re-approves it for the new owner. A group does not merge records: each company's customer and supplier accounts, invoices and cash records stay with that company.
Every switch is a new sign-in: the session starts from scratch
A switch is a password-free sign-in with the target company's owner account. The session ID is renewed; the previous company's session keys — form token, profile picture, test mode — are cleared. Other panel tabs left open in the same browser get a notice that they show the old company and should be reloaded before doing anything; the form token in those tabs no longer passes.
A password reset drops the link: it is tied to the password
When the link is made, a trace of the owner's password is stored — never the password itself. If the owner changes the password on their own change-password screen by entering the old one, the link continues. If the password changes some other way, such as "forgot password" or a central reset, the link suspends itself: someone who takes over one account by resetting its password cannot move on to the other companies in the group.
Password Trace
The link is tied to the password at the moment it is made. A password you change on your own screen carries the link; a password changed another way suspends it, and that screen cannot lift the suspension.
- The password itself is never stored
- Change password keeps the link
- A reset suspends it
Automatic Suspension
If the company is suspended, the owner account is deactivated, the owner changes or the password changes another way, the link suspends itself. No status is stored; it is recalculated on every view and every switch.
- Company or owner inactive
- Owner changes
- Password changed another way
Central Re-Approval
A link suspended by a password or owner change is re-approved by iStartPay after confirming with you; when a company or user is reactivated, the link reopens by itself. Removing a company from the group only removes the switch link and never touches its data.
- Re-approval after a check
- Reactivation reopens it
- Removal leaves data alone
